WMG has a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities, many of which are available for research programmes or contract hire with full technician support.
Capability – Systems
“The Vehicle Energy Facility (VEF) is a state-of-the-art hybrid powertrain research facility providing un-rivalled capabilities and flexibility for the testing and characterisation of hybrid powertrains, components and control systems.
The VEF can test from component level to the complete system – including powertrain, electric drives and energy storage
Other systems and machinery available at the facility include:
– Fatigue machines
– load testing
– strain rate testing
– optical testing.”
Capability – Testing
All kinds of tests including standard tensile tests, VOCs, very high strain rates, surface deformation, microscopy and complete engine and electric machine testing.
