Capability Statement

Our RIDC site in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, spurs off the Robin Hood line to provide 10 miles of single-line test track with a three-mile double section, capable of testing up to 75mph. The facility, which we own and operate, comprises a short section of non-live 25kV type catenary and a short section of non-live 3rd/4th rail. As well as providing a safe operating environment for testing, RIDC Tuxford is also used by the rail industry to deliver training and competency assessments.

Capability – Testing

Testing, trialling and commissioning of Rail Vehicles; testing, trialling and commissioning of all Infrastructure based systems and equipment; General static and dynamic testing (up to 75 m/hour) for Rail Vehicles, On Track Plant and infrastructure based systems and equipment; Full range of On Track Plant testing to Railway Industry Standards as required by RIS1530; Adhesion testing up 1:25; Compressive force to 80m radius; Slip brake testing; Hand brake testing; Noise testing as prescribed by TSI; Static test; Dynamic test; Acoustic test; Weighting test; Other.
