Capability Statement

GRAFT2 is a full scale experimental track testing facility that uses accelerated loading to simulate the passage of decade’s worth of train axles in a matter of days. It has been used for academic and commercial research, for the purposes of testing/validating new track designs and track remediation solutions. It uses 200 tonne hydraulic rams to simulate the passage of different train types at a variety of speeds, on full scale track specimens. It is the largest of its kind in the UK.
